Our Process

How We Design and Install Your Powerwall

Every Powerwall project starts with an honest look at your home's electrical setup before any equipment is ordered.

01Step 1

Panel and Solar Review

We inspect your existing electrical panel and, if applicable, your current solar array. An outdated panel or underperforming solar system gets addressed before Powerwall installation moves forward.

02Step 2

Load Assessment and Sizing

We walk through which circuits matter most during an outage, from refrigeration to lighting, and calculate how many Powerwall units your home actually needs to meet those priorities.

03Step 3

Permitting and PG&E Interconnection

We prepare and submit the required permits and handle PG&E interconnection paperwork, so the system is approved and compliant before it goes live.

04Step 4

Installation and Commissioning

Our electricians install the Powerwall and backup gateway, wire it to your panel and solar system, and commission it so it's registered and communicating properly with the Tesla app.

05Step 5

System Testing and Handoff

Before we leave, we test outage switchover and walk you through monitoring your system, backup settings, and energy usage through the app.

Frequently asked

Tesla Powerwall Installation Questions

Get clear answers about tesla powerwall installation, preparation, timing, maintenance, and what to expect before requesting an estimate.

Q1

Do you install and register Tesla Powerwall systems?

Yes. We handle the full process, including installation, commissioning, and system registration, along with the electrical work, permitting, and PG&E interconnection required to bring a Powerwall online.

Q2

How many Powerwalls does my home need?

It depends on your circuit priorities and startup loads. Homes with air conditioning or well pumps often need more capacity. We calculate this during a load assessment rather than guessing upfront.

Q3

Can Powerwall be added to solar I already have?

In most cases, yes. Powerwall can retrofit onto existing solar arrays regardless of brand or inverter type. We first check that your current system is performing well enough to pair with battery storage.

Q4

Will Powerwall run my entire home during an outage?

That depends on your home's loads and how many Powerwalls are installed. Some homes run whole-home backup, others use an essential-load plan focused on key circuits. We confirm this during system design, not after installation.

Q5

Do you handle permits and PG&E paperwork?

Yes. We prepare the permit submissions and manage the PG&E interconnection process as part of the installation, so the system is properly approved before it's put into service.

Q6

Does Powerwall do anything when the grid is on?

Yes. Beyond outage backup, Powerwall stores solar or lower-cost energy and can use it during peak utility rate periods, giving you more control over daily energy use in addition to backup protection.

Q7

Should I choose Powerwall or a generator instead?

It depends on your outage needs. Powerwall offers quiet, instant backup for typical outages, while a standby generator suits multi-day outages or heavy loads. Some foothill homes benefit from having both.

Q8

Are startup loads like AC or well pumps a problem?

They can be. High startup loads sometimes require multiple Powerwalls or an essential-load approach rather than whole-home backup. We review this during sizing so expectations match what the system can actually support.

Start Your Powerwall Assessment

Tell us about your home, your solar system if you have one, and which circuits matter most during an outage. We'll review your panel and put together a sizing plan.
